Periodical: includes all journals, newsletter, and other serials, including resource books that are updated or supplemented at least annually, and directories, such as this one, that are published at least every two years. We included all such publications in all media, for example, publications available only in CD-ROM.
Accrediting organization: develops criteria and standards for judging quality, assesses the extent to which they are met, and, if the assessed entity or individual meets the accrediting organization's standards, issues a statement to this effect, that is, it 'accredits' the entity or individual who is thereby 'accredited.' We included international health care QM-related coordinating organizations.
