Methods used to compile profiles/entries

We started our search for the world's English language QM periodical and accrediting organizations with the listings in the previous edition of the health care Quality Management Resource Directory (QMRD) .

We produced the profiles displayed on this website as follows:

For entries in the previous edition of the Directory, we contacted publishers and organizations and asked them to update their profile.
To develop additional profiles for QM periodicals and accrediting organization, we
- Asked publishers and organizations to nominate additions to the Directory
- Conducted focused searches of the World Wide Web using commercial search engines (Google and Yahoo) and search terms derived from our definitions of quality management (which includes a wide variety of concepts), QM periodical, and accrediting organization.
- Discovered them serendipitously, through the chance discovery of a QM periodical or accrediting organization while reading a trade publication, for example.
- Constructed a profile for each newly-identified QM periodical and accrediting organization.
